Our mission: To transform STEM.

As one of only two Inclusive STEM Education Centers in the country–and the only one at a liberal arts college–we are working to advance both our understanding and practices of inclusion and equity in STEM to create the programs, policies, and culture that promote inclusive excellence.

How?

  • Support historically minoritized students, faculty and staff so they thrive in STEM by broadening the conversation and action around enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM-related fields
  • Build a sense of shared community and purpose by promoting inclusive pedagogy, curriculum, and active learning both in and out of the classroom
  • Foster a vibrant community of practice in inclusive STEM Studies teaching and research by strengthening interdisciplinary connections and providing resources and institutional platforms
  • Empower active citizenship within the culture of STEM to realize broadly transformative change
